Respect, protection and responsibility
Solidar Suisse is committed to ensuring that everyone working with or for us is treated with respect and protected from harm. We do not tolerate exploitation, abuse, harassment, discrimination or any other form of misconduct. Clear standards, safe reporting channels and the responsible handling of reports help us identify risks early, protect people and learn from experience.
Report concerns or misconduct
Do you have a question, a concern or information about possible misconduct involving Solidar Suisse? You can contact us confidentially through the Integrity Line. The Integrity Line is open to staff, partner organisations, programme participants, donors and others.
What happens after a report is submitted?
Every report submitted through the Integrity Line is received and reviewed according to a clear procedure. Depending on its content and urgency, it is referred to the responsible body, and the next steps are determined. Where necessary, cases are investigated, documented and overseen by the relevant integrity or governance bodies. Throughout this process, we take potential conflicts of interest into account and ensure that concerns are addressed at the appropriate level.
Why integrity matters
Organisations working in international cooperation bear a particular responsibility. Power imbalances can arise in projects, partnerships and working relationships. These must not lead to exploitation, abuse, harassment or discrimination. For Solidar Suisse, integrity means using power responsibly, respecting human rights and consistently addressing misconduct. Protection is not an add-on to our work, but a prerequisite for cooperation based on trust, respect and equality.
How we act
- Clear rules Our policies and Code of Conduct define the behaviour we expect and what we will not tolerate.
- Prevention and Protection We work to identify risks early, prevent harm and protect people—especially children and people at risk.
- Safe reporting channels Questions, concerns and information about possible misconduct can be submitted confidentially through the Integrity Line.
- Acting responsibly We carefully review reports, refer them to the appropriate teams and use what we learn to improve our work.
Our mandatory standards
Our policies make our expectations and responsibilities transparent. They provide guidance for staff, partner organisations and others—and form part of a comprehensive system for integrity, safeguarding and accountability.
Code of Conduct
The Code of Conduct sets out the values and standards of behaviour that apply to everyone working with or for Solidar Suisse. It outlines the behaviour we expect and the forms of misconduct we do not tolerate.
Policy on Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH)
The PSEAH Policy sets out how Solidar Suisse prevents sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment, reduces risks and responds to concerns or reports.
Child Protection Policy
Children and young people have a right to protection. This policy sets out how Solidar Suisse identifies risks, strengthens prevention and responds responsibly to potential threats to their safety.
Sharing responsibility
A culture of integrity grows when people can pay attention, ask questions and raise concerns. Solidar Suisse is committed to taking concerns seriously, learning from them and taking action where change is needed.
